Happy Mother’s Day to all the wonderful mums out there

The following piece has been written by La Porchetta’s CEO, Sara Pantaleo.

It’s Mother’s Day this Sunday and we’re looking forward to welcoming families celebrating in our restaurants. We often see generations of mothers dine at La Porchetta. Mother’s Day is important to me personally because my mother was a very special force in my life. When she cooked, the fragrances lured me into the kitchen. My mother would say: “Go away!” — but not before she gave me a taste. To me, her cooking was an expression of her love.

And my mother’s Italian flavours persist at La Porchetta to this day. To her, and to mothers across many cultures, cooking is a heartfelt tradition of passing on knowledge, love and togetherness.

This is why at La Porchetta we look after our staff, our customers and our local communities as if they were our own family. Because when you sit down at our table, you are a part of our La Porchetta family.

Families of all varieties dine in our restaurants, including single mums caring for their kids. Nowadays there are countless variations of the family, and mums doing an amazing job under sometimes difficult circumstances.

To us, as restaurateurs, it’s most important to take care of the mums who dine with us and we do that with great meals served in a warm, family atmosphere.

Happy Mother’s Day to all the wonderful mums out there.
